The Art of Feeling too Deeply

Embrace the depth of your feelings and see them as strengths, not weaknesses. It’s about self-acceptance, empathy, and realizing that being sensitive can actually be a beautiful thing. Your sensitivity…

Heart

When was the last time you cried? Or when was the last time you utterly painted your heart out on a blank canvas without the fear of passersby judging your art? ‘Art?’ Is it?

What is art? An unparalleled story which only you know, which is gracefully yours, which you have painted, written or scribbled. Which need not to make sense to anyone, which need not to be validated by anyone else than you, yourself. And that’s exactly what feelings and expression are – an ART.

Have you often been mocked that you’re just too sensitive for the world or you make a mountain out of a molehill? Or have you ever evaluated your self-esteem and based your self-concept upon the sight of others?

Both Self-esteem & Self-concept are interrelated yet distinct.

Self-concept underlines how you define yourself, the way you gaze upon your ideas and attributes.

Humanist psychologist Carl Rogers believed that it is carved out of two pieces of one wood – the real self & the ideal self. The real self is who you believe you are and the ideal self is what you aspire to be. Whereas self-esteem touches upon your evaluation and judgement about yourself. It arises from the degree of congruence between the both kinds of selves.

We often look at ourselves as an object rather than a subject. An object seen and evaluated from the eyes of others but never the subject, the one exploring and delving into oneself.

People who feel deeply have depth of oceans where pearls are found. It is a blessing in disguise. Because it is not only the pain or grief you yearn and absorb but also the joys and bliss which you behold longer. When a mere petal suffuses your entire aura.

We have been running away from our sensitivity, hiding it behind the locked doors, ceasing the flowing rivers to the eyelid dams. Today, don’t run away from your sensitivity and emotions, accept them, hug them tightly and embrace them. Pause in the midst of chaos – & feel. I know the world won’t stop for you but the world isn’t responsible for you either. YOU ARE. Therefore, whenever it feels too heavy or too much to behold – stop, accept, feel & release. Because the day this piled up volcano will erupt, the lava will be too scorching and fierce to handle.

Sway with the rhythms of life, embracing every moment with the joy it brings. Feel the scent whispering euphoria and the heart pounding sheer cheer and gratitude.

Also, crying isn’t weak or meek. Cry, let the rivers shatter and flood the dams. But once you are done, wipe it off adorning your vulnerabilities as strengths. Take pride in yourself – you don’t just feel, you empathize deeply.

We at InsightIt never see you as ‘too much’. To us, your every feeling and emotion are warmly welcomed. We believe in detangling the tangled wires of emotions rather than labelling them.
